The first ever State South Dakota Clay Target Tournament was held in Aberdeen on June 11th.  Bowdle had 16 kids shooting at the event. The kids shot their best ever rounds during the season at the tournament. There were 121 kids who shot at the tournament.  Vermillion, Platte-Geddes, Milbank, Brookings, Pierre, Canton and Bowdle all showed up with their school colors. Minnesota started out in 2008 with two schools and 30 kids for their 1st state tournament. This year they had 10,000 shooters and it took them 8 days to complete the tournament. This is the fastest growing school sponsored sport in the USA. Since 2008 not one student has ever had an injury. The M.C. was from Minnesota and said, “Take lots of pictures as this will be the smallest State Tournament ever held in South Dakota!”
